People are already hostile to the aerial drones, so I can only imagine how enraged they’d get over a drone submarine.

P.S. The other day I was on YouTube watching videos of hawks & other birds attacking aerial drones, so I was just sitting here wondering what sorts of fish (or other water dwelling creatures) might consider a submarine drone a threat.

Me thinks some photographers are prolly gonna lose some equipment finding out. A fish might not do a lot of damage, but a protective mother bird, otter, or beaver could. And what about all those southern states with gators! *CHOMP* Even a young one could do some damage.

Oh, and meet Texas’ river monster, the alligator gar. It’s a prehistoric critter (it’s been around for 100 million years or so) that has the body of a fish and the head of an alligator. If you saw a photo of one, you’d think it was shopped, heh. Luckily, I never met one in person, but the Texas Department of Parks & Wildlife says they can grow up to 8 ft. long and weigh more than 300 lbs.

Distribution

Natural range

Alligator gars inhabit a wide variety of aquatic habitats, but most are found in the Southern United States in reservoirs and lakes, in the backwaters of lowland rivers, and in the brackish waters of estuaries, bayous and bays. They have occasionally been seen in the Gulf of Mexico. In Texas and Louisiana it is common to see large gars breaking the surface in reservoirs, bayous, and brackish marshes. They are found throughout the lower Mississippi River Valley and Gulf Coast states of the Southern United States and Mexico as far south as Veracruz, encompassing the following states in the United States: Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Florida, and Georgia. […]

Google Images results for alligator gar. They have two rows of teeth and supposedly eat mostly fish and the occasional bird or mammal, but I wouldn’t want to run into one and have to personally test that out.
